Managing wood for heating our home means planning ahead.

Wood needs to be dry in order to burn cleanly. Our wood is delivered, cut to length, split and then stacked where it can dry for at least two years.

  Here comes the delivery!

It was not ideal weather for a delivery of wood. But when the woodman called and saidhe's loaded and ready to deliver, I said "bring it."

Friday afternoon delivery

All day Saturday - hoping my back doesn't go out on me!

Piled and ready to split next weekend                        Sawdust and snow and a job done.

And best of all, I was able to walk on Sunday!
